Extreme demand for NON-GMO soybeans

The market for soybeans is still behaving extremely bullish. Back in January we saw 50 % increase, now we are at 100 % over previous years price level and the CBOT broke more than 10 years record high recently. Please be aware CBOT is a commodity price information tool that are used for GMO pricing hence the actual prices from there cannot be transferred directly to NON-GMO FOOD BEANS but as an indicator only.

There seems to be an extreme demand for NON-GMO soybeans due to many different factors which causes a discrepancy between supply and demand. Besides increased prices we are also experienced suppliers that are delivering unsatisfactory soybean quality, so we needed to reject a lot more that we have ever experienced in the past, which also adds even more pressure to the demand side.

Together with this we are also faced with extreme freight rates, especially for deliveries of CTR’s. For Soy Austria®, this causes no internal issues as we only source our soybeans within EU and as close to our production as possible. It does cause issues when shipping our products to our customer overseas.

Soy Austria® is committed to reassure the supply to our customers with the known and agreed quality they need.

After a year working on our future looks we are thrilled to finally be able to announce: SOJA AUSTRIA Vertriebs GmbH changes to Soy Austria GmbH. We change our name, logo, article names, webpage, package design for our ingredients and email/contact addresses.

We want to rebrand ourselves to gain a stronger international profile and we re-structure our product portfolio.

Soy Austria GmbH will be working globally with our natural ingredients based on soy creating and finding NATURAL SOYLUTIONS for our customers so they will be able to create amazing products for the consumers.

Soy Austria uses 100% renewable energy

Soy Austria uses 100% renewable energy

Until the end of 2020 we were using 65% hydropower including our own hydropower station as our source of electricity. In early January we committed to use 100% sustainable energy in our goal to become CO2 neutral and offer our customers ingredients that are natural and produced as sustainably as possible.

For historical reasons, our mill is located next to a river. Since then, Soy Austria® has always used the energy of water for processing agricultural products. Today, our energy comes from our own modern hydroelectrical power plant, and it is supplemented by energy purchased from 100% sustainable sources.

We use every part of the bean

Soy Austria® is proud to have perfected the processing of soy, using every part of the bean in order to create a multifunctional portfolio of 100% natural soy food ingredients. For our product we use the full bean, the soy protein, the hull, the hilium and the lipid bodies.

Full bean
SOYPAN, SOYSAN, SOYGRAN: full-fat soybean products like soy flours, flakes or soy-splits unify the advantages of all soybean fractions, resulting in high nutritional value, high emulsifiability and multifunctional uses within food products. Depending on the roasting grade, full-fat soy flours cover a wide range of sensory properties, from its native beany taste to mimicking nutty flavours like hazelnut or peanut.

Soy protein
SOYTEXTURE, SOYPRO 50: by gently pressing off the soy oil, we end up with a 100% natural soy flour that contains 50% native soy protein; this semi-defatted flour is the starting point of our unique soy texturates.

Hull
SOYBRAN: milled soybean hulls, high in dietary fibre, adding viscosity into a watery solution, high water binding capacity.

Hilum
SOYFLAVONE: high in phytoestrogens.

Lipid bodies
SOYOIL crude: gently pressed, high in poly-unsaturated fatty acids, lecithin and vitamin E.
